Privacy policy

A plain-language explanation of what this guide does—and does not—collect.

Information handled by the guide

TurtleMatch evaluates its on-page filters entirely in your browser. Those filter choices and descriptions are not saved or included in analytics.

When you use AI Donatello, your latest message, limited recent chat context, selected dates and group size, and the identifiers of matching tours are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. The site does not keep a saved chat history. A signed security cookie, which expires after 24 hours, and a pseudonymous safety identifier help protect the chat from abuse.

If you provide a complete date range and request tour suggestions, the site may send the normalized tour format, dates and party size to Viator to retrieve date-filtered listings. The chat transcript is not sent to Viator, and a random technical session identifier is used for that search. Do not enter contact, payment, passport or other sensitive information in the chat.

Hosting and security providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site.

Cloudflare provides content-delivery and security services for this site. It may set the essential __cf_bm cookie to distinguish automated traffic and protect the service. This cookie is used for security rather than Aruba Turtle Guide analytics and may be set before analytics consent. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request headers, browser and security signals under its own privacy policy. Cloudflare explains its essential cookies in its cookie documentation.

Basic page counts, without tracking cookies

On arubaturtleguide.com, a small first-party counter starts without asking for Google Analytics consent. It helps us understand which guides are useful. It stores only the UTC date, a public page path from a fixed list, and a total number of views. It does not store visitor or session identifiers, IP addresses, browser details, referrers, URL query parameters, chat text or individual browsing histories. These counts are not sent to Google or used for advertising.

The totals are held in our site database on the hosting platform. As new views arrive, totals older than the rolling 90-day window are deleted. The technical preview address is not counted. Reloads can count again: these are page views, not unique people. Blocking scripts can reduce counts, and some automated visits may still be included. Hosting and security processing described above remains separate.

You can object below or through Privacy settings in the footer. We respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track, and preserve earlier analytics refusals. A preference saved on this browser for up to 180 days remembers your choice, not your identity or browsing history. If browser storage is unavailable, we skip the counter unless you explicitly enable it for the current page.

Daily totals by page only. No tracking cookies or visitor identifiers. You can switch this off here.

Optional Google Analytics and consent

The site uses a separate Google Analytics 4 data stream only after you choose Allow Google Analytics. Before consent, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded.

Advertising storage, ad-user data and ad-personalization remain denied. We do not use Google Signals or advertising personalization. Your choice is stored locally on your device for up to 180 days and can be changed through Privacy settings in the site footer.

Third-party links

The site links to tour operators, marketplaces, maps, transport services and public sources. When you follow a link, that third party may process information under its own privacy and cookie policies. Aruba Turtle Guide does not control those services.

OpenAI processes chat data used to create the concierge reply, and Viator processes the limited search details described above when a date search runs, under their respective privacy terms.

Commission-earning Viator links are disclosed before the click. Viator may use link parameters and cookies to attribute an eligible booking to Aruba Turtle Guide. With analytics consent, the site may attach a fixed, non-identifying campaign label to a Viator link during the current browser session when the visit came from a Google ad. Google click identifiers are not copied into the Viator link. A click is treated as interest in a listing, not as a completed sale.

Use, sharing and retention

Technical information may be used to operate and secure the site, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and comply with legal obligations. It may be processed by hosting, infrastructure and security providers or disclosed where required by law. Aruba Turtle Guide does not sell personal information.

Technical logs are retained only as reasonably necessary for operations, security and legal compliance, subject to provider practices. Providers may process information in other countries using safeguards required by applicable law.

Your choices

Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port or object to processing, and to withdraw consent when processing relies on consent. Choosing Stop all analyticsstops future Google Analytics and basic page counts on this browser, clears the session campaign label and removes first-party Google Analytics cookies that the site can identify.

The site currently has no contact form and does not collect contact details. Aruba Turtle Guide is owned by Tommy. For privacy requests, send Tommy a private Instagram message. Instagram is a temporary contact channel. Meta processes messages under its own terms. Send only the information needed for the request and do not include payment, passport or other sensitive information.
